Copyright: Integrity, Importance, and Limitations
Copyright affects artistic integrity by limiting creativity. If, let's say, one thousand people came up with one original idea, that means one thousand ideas can't be used. Limitations arise quite fast. See also the third paragraph. Copyright is especially important because without it, other people can benefit from the original creator's work. The original creator could lose millions of dollars without copyright. Or other people could claim the work as theirs. This could be especially problematic because as I said earlier it could hurt the original creator. Whether it is popularity, being one of a kind, or money, these things are important to making things successful. Things meaning artworks, such as own creations/character designs, or game concepts, et cetera, et cetera. Some limitations due to copyright on creativity are having ideas. Ideas that are too similar to somebody else could leave to problems. This can be hard because it's nearly impossible to come up with completely, one hundred percent original idea. My Thoughts on Copyright I believe the copyright law can be a bit too harsh. For example in the article the Pokemon Company sued a fan for having a Pokemon themed party. I think the law should judge them on the accused intentions. Like of the person didn't mean to steal, and had purely innocent intentions, they shouldn't have to pay a $4,000 for something as innocent as a party. But if somebody is illegally downloading music and selling it for personal profit they should be sued.

My favorite character so far is the Chicken Man.
“Chicken Man was a small man with a deep, rich, almost copper-toned skin, a wrinkled face, and laughing eyes. He wore an old fishing hat that seemed to cover his entire face, and plaid pants that left about two inches of ankle showing. He smelled of liquor and beer all the time, but he kept a pocket full of candy which he laid on the various children who came by the liquor store to see him, some of his kin and some not.” The author creates great characterization by using various adjectives. For example he talks about the Chicken Man’s “laughing” eyes. This helps create imagery. He then talks about the smell of alcohol. The author includes more of the five senses this way. A person who would be fun to write a description of is my mother. My mother is very short. Even shorter and smaller than me. You see, it runs in the family. My great grandmother is very short too. My mother has round, brown eyes. Usually with blue eyeshadow as blue is usually a good pair for her deep serious brown eyes. She won’t like to admit it but she has small, spider web wrinkles creasing the ends of her eyes. All from laughing a lot. She has very soft features and small lips. I especially like being around my mother because she always smells lovely. She likes to put on Japanese Cherry Blossom lotion she bought from Bath and Body Works because they had a two-for-one sale. I have to say, my mother dresses quite strange. She likes to buy clothing from thrift shops and make shirts into pants and pants into skirts. It’s highly embarrassing, writing about it already makes me slightly red. I still think she’s very beautiful. Society can say whatever they like about body shape or whatever but I still think she is stunning. Summary
Being in game design can be very difficult. It's important not to make game design your sole career because of financial concerns. Most times games won't earn enough money to solely base money on. What I learned I learned that a career in game design needs luck, connections, and money. Getting enough money to make a demo to pitch towards bigger companies or publishers. If you know people, you have a bigger chance of getting your ideas out there, To get connections, you can reach out or try to get internships. By building a portfolio and reaching out, you have a higher chance of being noticed. Rejection and being fired is common in this career, Having a fine arts degree can be especially helpful. A fine arts degree means you can look at a pretty picture and tell what makes it pretty. Some problems a memoir writer faces are including truth while incorporating their own opinions and experiences.Opinions and experiences can often cloud or alter a memoir writer’s version of the truth. For example, James McBride’s grandfather was racist and cruel to his mother. There is a chance that he has a bad experience, himself with other races. Or he was abused himself when he was a child. That’s a possibility to why his grandfather was so cruel to McBride’s mother.
I wonder how they can remember things so well. I, personally, have really bad memory. I could not even remember what I had for dinner last night. Some hang-ups I'm worried about are whether I can truly remember the details. The event I'm writing about happened when I was in day care. I only remember parts of it because my mother told me about it. My brother was also there apparently and he remembered too. He likes to tell me about how he saw my brain. I know very charming of him. Summary of Lecture
The lecture was about visualization techniques in film. He talked about the use of green screens, 3D modeling, and story boarding. What I Learned I learned that story boarding is very important for films and anything else that uses pictures to show a story. Story boarding can save lots of valuable time, by knowing what you need you can get the shots faster. Green screens were generally a bright, neon green because they don't usually occur in nature, or in costumes. Because of this it's easier to edit out and put things in place of the green screen, such as a background. 3D modeling can help give an idea on what happens in a film and what it looks like. For example, the Spartan movie shows a general idea on perspective and where everything is. How It's Used in Film What we learn in Sci-Vis can be used in film by using the following methods; story boards, and 3D modeling. Story boarding makes the content of the film and a rough draft on how it looks. For example, The Terminator story board shows quick sketches for the scenes. I assume eventually we might learn about story boards, or at least in English class. 3D modeling can be used to show what goes where and when. |
