I found the cave paintings, photography, and computer to be the most interesting. Cave Paintings Cave paintings held the most interest for me because of the huge impact they had on visualization. They first introduced gesture drawing, which from then inspired concept art and other forms of drawing. Without these techniques we wouldn't have the art styles we have today. These paintings are fascinating to me. Photography Photography was definitely a revolutionary idea. It sculpted the way society works today. Things we use daily such as Instagram and Snapchat depends on photography. For artists, photos can serve as references which are extremely helpful. Instead of making a model stand for hours on end we can simply snap a picture and use the photo as reference. Photography itself evolved so much over the years. Cameras are built into mini computers we can fit in our pockets. It's truly amazing. Camera Computers is pretty much our future. Almost everyday we use computers sometimes for the most menial tasks. Ever since computers were made, they've changed so much. Computers use to be huge, now they can fit in our pockets. Computers are pretty fantastic.

My long term goal is to be a comic (or manga) artist, an animator, or a game designer. In order to achieve this goal, I plan to continue to learn how to improve my artistic ability both digitally and traditionally. I will take lessons to learn how to use different screen tones for comic or manga. Furthermore, I could learn this skill within the next year and practice using screen tones digitally.
High School Goals Throughout high school I'll learn how to animate, story board, and make a web comic. I'll learn about animation as a Freshman and Sophomore. Story boarding and plot could be learned in depth in a writing or English class, which is offered throughout the high school. Color theory can be learned throughout high school and college, as this is very interesting to me. As either a Sophomore or Senior, I plan to make a small web comic to get a feel for the flow and making of a comic should be like. College Goals For college I plan to go to North Carolina State University (NCSU), or other colleges that offer in-depth lessons game design/art courses, for example, Full Sail. I prefer NCSU because my sister is an alumni and she would be able to help me if needed. I plan to major in game design, my second major would be in psychology, in case my artistic major doesn't work out. My minor would be in writing, this would be especially helpful for comics, game design, or animation story lines. After College Goals When I graduate, at this time I would be about twenty two, I will apply for a job at illustration companies. My main hope would to be to get a job at Disney. This is my dream job as an animator or a person who creates the stories. As for making games, I would apply for jobs at Ubisoft, Game Freak, or possibly even Nintendo. If being an artist doesn't work out, I'll pursue being a psychologist as my main source of income. |
